How to convert PDF pages to PNG

  1. Choose a PDF.

  2. Enter the pages to save, or leave it empty for all pages.

  3. Set the DPI. 144 suits screens, and higher values suit print.

  4. Download each PNG or all of them as a ZIP.

Why save PDF pages as PNG

PNG stores every pixel without lossy compression, so text edges, thin lines and flat colors come out exactly as rendered. Use it for diagrams, charts, slides and text-heavy pages. It also works for images you plan to crop or edit later, because saving them again does not cost any detail.

There is no Quality setting, so DPI is the only control over size. At 144 DPI a US Letter page comes out at 1224 × 1584 pixels, and halving the DPI cuts the pixel count to a quarter. If you only need one figure from a page, render that page at a higher DPI and cut the figure out with Crop image.

Frequently asked questions

Is a PNG export still searchable like a PDF?
No. Each page is saved as a picture, so its text cannot be searched or selected.
Can the PNG have a transparent background?
No. Every page is drawn on a white background before it is saved, so empty areas of the page are white, not transparent.
Why does a page fail to convert at high DPI?
Each image is limited to 40 megapixels and 16,384 pixels on its longest side. Large-format pages such as posters or technical drawings can pass that at high DPI, so lower the DPI and try again.
Should I convert pages to PNG or JPG?
PNG keeps text and line art exact but makes larger files, especially for pages full of photos. For scanned or photo-heavy pages, Convert PDF to JPG gives smaller files with an adjustable quality setting.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Files are processed in your browser on this device and are not sent to BlurMe servers.
