Choose the output for its intended use

JPG suits photos when transparency is unnecessary. PNG preserves decoded pixels and transparency but may make photographs much larger. WebP supports transparency with adjustable lossy quality. Conversion cannot restore detail already lost in the source. AVIF still images are also accepted. Outputs use 8-bit pixels; HDR appearance is not guaranteed.

The example turns a JPG photo, a transparent PNG and a WebP image into JPG files at quality 80. The PNG gets a white background. Dimensions stay unchanged, except that a photo stored with orientation metadata is saved in its displayed orientation.

Frequently asked questions

Can different source formats share one output format?

Yes. Select a mix of supported still images and choose JPG, PNG or WebP for the whole batch. Each input produces its own file. HEIC/HEIF uses only the first image in the file.

What if I choose the format a file already uses?

It is still decoded and re-encoded. Quality and size can change for JPG and WebP. This is useful for making a mixed batch consistent, but it is not a byte-for-byte copy.

Will converting my PNG to JPG keep the transparent background?

No. JPG cannot store transparency. Choose a background color before converting, or select PNG or WebP to retain transparent areas.

Can the batch converter preserve animation or Live Photos?

No. Animated PNG and WebP are rejected. GIF is not an input format, and only the first image of a HEIC/HEIF file is converted. Live Photo video is not included.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Files are processed in your browser on this device and are not sent to BlurMe servers.
