One batch, different compression methods

Photos for a website, transparent graphics and screenshots can go in one batch without sorting them by format. PNG keeps its pixels and transparency, while JPG and WebP are lossy, so fine text and patterns can soften slightly.

Files that are already optimized come back unchanged. Compression does not remove photo metadata, so use Remove EXIF Data to strip location details.

Frequently asked questions

How does compression work with mixed image formats?

Each file keeps its format. JPG and WebP are re-encoded at the chosen quality; PNG uses lossless optimization. If compression makes a file larger, you receive the original bytes.

Does the KB target apply to PNG in a mixed batch?

No. The target and resizing option apply only to JPG and WebP. PNG is optimized losslessly without reducing its dimensions. Convert PNG to JPG or WebP if changing format is acceptable.

What happens when a photo cannot meet my size limit?

The result is marked as over the target. Try allowing smaller dimensions, or use Resize image first. A chosen target is not a guaranteed output size.

Can I keep the original image formats in the ZIP?

Yes. Each result retains its input format. The ZIP packages those files without converting them; duplicate result names receive a numbered suffix.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Files are processed in your browser on this device and are not sent to BlurMe servers.
