How to split a PDF into several files
Choose the PDF to split.
Enter page groups separated by semicolons, for example 1-3;4-6.
Leave it empty to split every page into its own PDF.
Download each part or all of them as a ZIP.
How page groups turn into separate PDFs
Each group between semicolons becomes one file, and the parts are numbered in the order you typed the groups. Inside a group you can combine commas and ranges, so 1,4-6 produces a four-page file. Pages you leave out of every group are not exported. The same page can go into several groups, for example when every part needs the cover page.
Pages are copied, not redrawn, so text stays selectable and scanned pages keep their original resolution. Each part is a complete PDF on its own, but document-wide extras such as bookmarks are not carried into the parts. If you only need one selection saved as a single file, Extract PDF pages does that in one step.

Frequently asked questions
- How do I split a PDF into selected groups?
- Enter groups separated by semicolons, such as 1-2;3. Each group becomes its own PDF.
- How many files can one split create?
- Up to 200. On a document longer than 200 pages, leaving Pages empty stops with a size error, so use larger groups such as 1-100;101-200;201-300. All parts together must also stay under 150 MB.
- Why does my split stop with a page number error?
- Every number must fall between 1 and the last page, and ranges must run from low to high. An empty group also fails, which happens with a doubled semicolon as in 1-3;;4 or a trailing one as in 1-3;.
- Why do the parts add up to more than the original size?
- Each part carries its own copy of the fonts and images its pages use, so resources shared across pages are stored more than once. Split PDF does not compress files.
- Are my files uploaded to a server?
- No. Files are processed in your browser on this device and are not sent to BlurMe servers.
