How to rotate PDF pages

  1. Choose a PDF.

  2. Enter the pages to turn, or leave it empty for all pages.

  3. Pick 90°, 180° or 270° clockwise.

  4. Download the rotated PDF.

How PDF page rotation works

A PDF page stores a rotation value that tells viewers which way up to show it. Rotate PDF changes only that value, in steps of 90° clockwise. The page content is not redrawn, the file size barely changes and you can reverse the turn later.

Scanned documents are a common reason to rotate, with most pages fine and a few upside down or sideways. Enter just those pages, for example 4,9 with 180°. Each run applies one angle to every page you list, so pages that need different turns are handled in separate runs on the downloaded file.

Frequently asked questions

Does rotation change existing text in the PDF?
No. Only the page orientation changes, so the text can still be selected and searched.
How do I rotate pages counterclockwise?
Choose 270°. Rotation always goes clockwise, and a 270° clockwise turn ends in the same position as 90° counterclockwise.
Can I undo a rotation?
Yes. Load the rotated file and apply the opposite turn to the same pages. 270° reverses 90°, and 180° reverses itself.
If I rotate first, will page numbers and watermarks follow the new orientation?
Yes. Add page numbers to PDF and Watermark PDF place their marks relative to the page as it is displayed, including its rotation, so rotate first and add marks afterwards.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Files are processed in your browser on this device and are not sent to BlurMe servers.
